Honeymoon!

Brad and I went on our honeymoon to Big Bear Lake, California. We had no idea what to expect going there, because we had heard nothing about it. But it ended up being a blast! We stayed our first night up at Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City. That is where Brad proposed to me, so it was perfect to go back up there again. That place is just immaculate, and we were very lucky to be able to stay there!

Our second night we stayed at a hotel in North Las Vegas. It was super nice, and it helped to break up the long drive a little bit and hang out there. We swam at the pool for a while, and then ate at a yummy buffet (that probably was worth the $15 a plate), and then walked around the hotel and casino.
On our way to Vegas!

So the next morning we got up and finished our trip to Big Bear. It was only about 4 more hours from Vegas. We had a great time eating Sunflower Seeds, and treats that my friends left in our car when they decorated it at our reception. When we were about 5 miles away from Big Bear, we saw a big lake area where a lake should have been...but it was completely dry. Brad started getting really nervous that this dry lake was 'Big Bear Lake' i just started laughing, but he didn't think it was funny. We drove around this dry lake, and then finally rolled into Big Bear City. Brad and been nervous sick about this place for about 15 minutes, until we found something that made him feel a million times better....
Stater Bro's. Brad loves this grocery store, and when he went to California with his family this summer, him and his brothers started calling themselves the 'Stater Bro's'

We then went to our Lodge where we were staying, and we found the real 'Big Bear Lake' that was beautiful, and was full of water! :)

Sunday we made our first meal together. It ended up being kind of interesting, but still yummy :) We had chicken tortilla things, with beans, rice, cheese, salsa, and whatever else we had.

Throughout the rest of the week we did lots of other fun things. We went on a pretty hike up in the mountains and had a picnic. We hiked forever and still never made it to where we wanted to, but we had fun anyways!

Our picnic on a rock. :)
On our hike we found the biggest pinecones! It was crazy!

So everynight on our honeymoon, we played Yahtzee for like an hour! Oh my gosh, this brought me so much frustration. We would play again and again, and i still have not been able to beat Brad once! Every night i would be so mad, because i know i'm good enough to beat him at least once! Here is a picture of us playing...i can't believe i'm actually smiling.

We did a lot of fun things on the lake later that week! We went on a crazy Jet Boat Ride, that i really don't know how to explain except that it was nuts. I had never heard about them, or seen one, so i had no idea what to expect. The boat is super fast, and does 360's, and drifts everywhere! I was kind of nervous about it, but it ended up being way fun!

This purple and green thing behind us is the jet boat!

Brad was on the very end, and i was right next to him. Everytime we would do a 360, we got soaked!

One night we went to the shops and walked around. Of course all of the cowboy stores are Brad's favorite. :)
And of course my favorite store was the one with tons of yummy caramel apples...

So while we were there we got to go para-sailing! This is something i've always wanted to do, and has always looked so fun. But when it came down to it, i was super nervous! But we did it, and it was the funnest thing ever! They let you off from the back of their boat, and they let out about 600 feet of rope, which means we were probably 350 feet in the air! We took our camera up with us, and got some fun pictures!
This is right before we took off on the boat, and were getting all harnessed up. You can tell i looked a little stressed.
 Up in the air!
This is how far up we were, you can barely see our boat!

One morning we of course had to do some rollerblading around the lake. It was so refreshing and fun!

On our very last day there, we went to this swim beach that had a bunch of blow up things in the water to play on. It was way fun, but in order to go out and swim on the blow up things, you have a pass a swim test. So in front of the lifeguard, you have to swim 25 meters freestyle, and 25 meters backstroke. Brad of course did it with no problem, but me on the other hand was sweatin bullets about this! I can't swim. So Brad was really nice and practiced with me a little bit, and then after i was embarrassed that little 4 year olds were passing this swim test, i got brave and decided to do it. Luckily i passed! I was so proud. So after we both got our wristbands for passing the test, we headed out to the toys!

Anything that includes toys and water of course puts my husband on cloud 9 :)

Anyways...this sum's up our wonderful week at Big Bear! We absolutely loved our honeymoon, and cherished every second we had together. We got home Friday, and had one short weekend to move into our apartment, open presents, and get situated before school and work started that Monday! Life has been crazy ever since, but has only been getting better and better!

Our Wedding Day!

Brad and I were sealed on August 18th, 2011, and what a perfect day it was! Everything was so beautiful and meaningful to us. We have now been married a little over two weeks, and everyday one of us always says 'Hey, remember when we got married?' Being married is just so much better than we ever thought it would be, and our wedding day just put us on such a high.

Everything about the day was so special, but here are a few things that we always want to remember....
-The night before our wedding, i went through the temple for the first time. This was just an incredible experience all together. Brad's whole family (minus Jeff), and almost my whole family (minus Rob and Jess) were there, and it was just the most incredible feeling to finally be able to go through. When i was leaving that night, all i could think about was how everyone needs to go to the temple! There is just nothing like that place.
-Having both of our WHOLE family's in the sealing room. (minus Jeff who just started med school) There was nothing better than walking in and seeing everyone that is most important to us just smiling and supporting us.
-The sealer, who gave us great advice. He told us to keep dating, and have fun together. He told us a million other things too, but neither of us can really remember. :) I told you we were on a high.
-Kneeling across from each other on the alter, being completely full of the spirit and excited that we had finally made it! Brad cried more than i did, and i just have never felt more happy in my life.
-After the sealing was over, and we were walking back down with our escort back to the dressing rooms...we both just laughed the whole way down. We didn't even know why, but we just couldn't believe we were really married.
-Walking out of the temple and having all of our nieces and nephews run up and give us a big hug, and seeing more friends!
-Our beautiful luncheon at the Blue Lemon that Marty and Keri did a such a good job with. And of course our classic entertainment from 'The Greg' and the Schaack family song.
-After our reception we realized we completely forgot to pick up the flowers from our fluorist. The entire reception no one had any boutineers, corsages, or anything. No one even remembered until after it was over. My fluorist brought my bouquet to the temple earlier, so that was it. Kind of funny.
-Seeing all of our family and friends at our reception was soo fun! It was fun to see so many people, and feel so loved.

We really are so grateful for everything everyone did, and it truly was the best day of our life! Being married to your best friend is the FUNNEST!!
